Movie Night: Sadda Haq

Sadda Haq is a Panjabi film with English subtitles. The narrative follows a Canadian doctoral student on a trip to Panjab for the purposes of her research work concerning minority groups and their political struggles for liberation. Through several fictitious characters the factual events of 1980s and 1990s Panjab political history are unveiled.

Sadda Haq was released on 6th April and so far this film has been the most successful Panjabi film in North America ever, it has been shown in a number of cinemas around North America.

Showing in Ottawa at Empire Theatres – Orleans from Friday 26th April until Thursday 2nd May.
